The client that I am assessing will be a 3 year old girl with limited language capabilities. She was referred by her primary care doctor to a diagnostician. It was concluded that the client does have autism. The client was referred by the diagnostician to this aba center. The client lives at home with 2 older siblings (9 years old and 5 years). Client has never been in a school or daycare setting before.
It has been reported by parents that:
Client does not engage with peers older or the same ager as her
Client has some stimming
Restricted interests in blippi and paw patrol
Does not have any rigidity
Is high sensory seeking specifically for pressure

Client has some stimming which includes flapping arms and wiggling fingers Infront of face. The assessment that will be used will be the VB-MAPP. This assessment is designed for the clients age and will give me a better idea of where she falls short in language. The VB-MAPP will help me be able to create a tailored intervention plan for the client. The assessment will take place in the ABA center with the BCBA and an RBT intern. The parents have told BCBA they would like their child to: increase language and communication skills, have more things they like to play with, and to interact more with kids her age or at the very least parallel play.

This assessment is something I am not familiar with and need to research it and learn more about it. That is why I have chosen it and a hypothetical client that would benefit from it.
